    Hi,

    I’ve been busy since 2-3 weeks ago with lots of things – installation, preventive maintenance, research, simulation and user acceptance test – some of my friends even said that I have the “pressured” look, well it’s true, but it’s worth the pain in the ass.

    Finally, yesterday afternoon, while I was at Ambank troubleshooting DB2 backup problem, I got an SMS from my colleague saying that new promotion email just came in, but I dont bother at that time, thinking it was for other staff, but then I saw an email from my technical coordinator congratulates me, then I know the email was meant for me.

    I am now officially promoted as a Senior Systems Engineer under eCenit Sdn. Bhd, which gives me different scope of work and half of decision making power of Technical Account Manager, now I guess my work will be more on research part, simulation, documentation revising, crucial implementation, guidance and also deep troubleshooting for end of life product version, which takes more time than before, which I think, will be the same since I work till night also.

    For salary, no comment for now, as HR department still undergoing on the new offer letter for this position, and looking at the economic situation now, I really dont expect much will increase. Meanwhile, I also got myself a new workstation, purposely for high end task and virtual machine simulation. Details below;

    Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.4Ghz – overclocked to 2.7 stable with stock HSF

    Gigabyte EG45M-DS2H – Ultra Durable mobo supporting up to 16Gb of memory – now running on 4Gb memory

    2 x Kingston HyperX DDR2 PC6400 memory + 2 x Kingston HyperX DDR2 PC5300 memory

    160Gb Western Digital HDD

    Sapphire HD 4650 512Mb DDR2

    Cooler Master 460w Extreme

    Cooler Master Casing Elite 340

    LG Flatron 19″ LCD

    Powerlogic Xplorer 3000 Keyboard + Mouse

    Pictures taken while installing Solaris 10 64bit on VMWare;

    New title, new workstation, new projects coming in, this part I call “Happy things” :)
