My experiences with vendor companies, they demand for a very low price from principal, sometimes almost 80% from the original price and then sell it to customer almost 200% from the original price, so the profit margin there is up to 180%, that’s why some of the companies here in Malaysia are very rich in this business. I myself are offering the services at a lower price since I have no company liabilities, no office rent to pay, no engineers to pay, but still, all payment will be through standard procedure, through my company, Intermixmedia Enterprise. Listed below is the estimated quotes for professional services from me;

Backup and Storage Job

Basic installation – basic installation will covers basic part of the installation, meaning installation and standard configuration for one server. It will not cover performance tuning and extra configuration, for that, you will need to see VAS (Value Added Services).

Basic installation for Backup Exec;

Backup Exec media servers : RM200 per server
Backup Exec agents installation + agents configuration : RM150 per server
Backup Exec options installation + configuration : RM300 per server

Basic installation for Netbackup;

Netbackup master server installation : RM2500 per server
Netbackup media server installation : RM1500 per server
Netbackup clients installation : RM300 per server
Netbackup agents installation + configuration : RM500 per server

Basic installation for Storage Foundation;

Storage Foundation installation : RM2500 per server
Storage Foundation configuration based on customer : RM2000 per server

Basic installation for Veritas Cluster Server;

Veritas Cluster Server installation : RM2500 per node
Veritas Cluster Server configuration : RM1000 per node

VAS (Value Added Services) – You will need VAS in order for your backup / high availability products to perform at it’s best. VAS will covers what’s not inside basic installation, meaning performance tuning, clustering option for backup products and backup strategy.

VAS for Backup Exec;

Performance tuning : RM300 per server

Clustering setup : RM300 per server

VBR – Veritas Backup Reporter installation + configuration : RM10000 per environment

VAS for Netbackup;

Performance tuning : RM500 per server

Clustering setup : RM500 per server

NOM – Netbackup Operation Manager installation : RM3000

VBR – Veritas Backup Reporter installation + configuration : RM10000 per environment

Note : VBR – Veritas Backup Reporter is an advanced reporting software for backup environment which includes custom reporting and also backup cost and forecast. It will be really useful to enterprise level backup environment which can help enterprises to forecast their cost and strategy planning. The price stated for the installation will include all the configuration as well until customer satisfied.

Arrangement for license key

Permanent license key will be needed in order for the products to continue working with no problem. For initial setup, I will give you the evalution key. I will show you the channel on where you can purchase the license key with reasonable price.

Arrangement for installation

For installation, you will need to make sure all prerequisites from your side is fullfil before you decide the time for installation, this includes downtime, patches, zoning and respective person in charge – system administrators, database administrators, server owner. I prefer installation to be on weekend since this will not interrupt anybody, the most important will be users.
